Bagel chips

Do you throw away bagels when they are a bit "past their prime"? Don't do that!

If a bagel is a bit dry or hard, it's perfect for making bagel chips.

Here are the easy steps:

Start by making thin slices of your bagels. The thickness is a matter of choice. I like them a little thick, so they have more of a hard crunch. But whatever thickness you choose, make the slices consistent. I use a mandolin slicer for this step. Be CAREFUL!!!

Put the slices in a bowl and gently toss them with your favorite seasonings. I used sea salt, black pepper, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Once the slices are evenly dusted with seasonings, add a little olive oil or avocado oil. Toss again to coat evenly.

Spread the slices evenly on baking sheets. It's best to line the sheets with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. You can add a little extra salt at this point.

Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes, or until golden and crunchy.

Enjoy! Let them cool completely and then store in a tight container for a few days at room temperature.
